...As Giving Tompolo’s Tantita Security Services And Maton Engineering Government Contracts Is Seen As Empowering Kidnapping, Human Trafficking, And banditry In The Region.
As Nigeria prepares to renew its multi-trillion-naira pipeline surveillance contract, President Bola Tinubu is being urged to carefully consider all options before making a decision. It's believe the focus should be on fairness, transparency, and the real interests of Niger Delta communities.
Reports say some Niger Delta traditional rulers plan to meet President Tinubu in Abuja to endorse his second-term bid. However, it's believe the main goal is to push for the renewal of the pipeline surveillance contract for Tantita Security Services and Maton Engineering Limited.
If this is true, the President should look beyond any endorsements because the current arrangement doesn't benefits the entire Niger Delta people. There are growing calls for the contract to be decentralized and shared across the region on state based stalkholders and host communities.
President Tinubu has reportedly already promised that future pipeline security contracts will be more evenly distributed among different ethnic and regional stakeholders.
This reportedly worried Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo. His company, Tantita Security Services, manages the Western Corridor, while Maton Engineering Limited, owned by Matthew Tolangha, to oversees the Central Corridor.
About 100 traditional rulers are expected to travel to Abuja next week, with flights and hotel accommodation already arranged for them. However, some top monarchs have reportedly refused to attend, saying they do not support what they see as a politically motivated meeting that is not in the best interest of the region.
An anonymous traditional ruler was also quoted as saying participants were promised financial incentives alongside paid travel and accommodation. The meeting is said to officially focus on Niger Delta region and a vote of confidence for the President, but the real agenda is contract renewal lobbying for Tantita Security Services
Personally, this raises concerns because traditional rulers are expected to protect the interests of their people, not appear to be errand boys send for lobbying for private contracts that is not not in the best interest of the region.
The pipeline surveillance system should not be controlled by a few companies. Instead, it should be decentralized so that each oil-producing state and host community can take responsibility for protecting pipelines within their own areas. This would help create jobs, improve accountability, and reduce monopoly.
The current contract is expected to expire in August 2026 and has already sparked opposition from several Niger Delta stakeholders.
Some former militant leaders including HRM Ateke Tom, Chief Victor Ben (General Boyloaf), Chief Ajube (Shoot-at-Sight), Chief Ayiri Emami, and Hon Diden Michael (Ejele), and traditional rulers, communities leaders, and other stakeholders are supporting calls for decentralization of the pipeline surveillance contract.
According to secrets reporters, the planned meeting was facilitated through senior government officials, including the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, with further allegations that Ribadu supports contract renewal in favour of Tantita. These claims remain unverified.
Tompolo, Mathew Tonlagha, and their Oporoza house are the most wicked set of people in the region. They are bent on controlling what belongs to everyone and treating the rest of the people like slaves, and this must come to an end.
The President should know that Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo and his Tantita Security Services, Mathew Tonlagha and his Maton Engineering are involved in kidnapping, human trafficking, banditry, killings, and beheading of Nigerians.
Giving them government contracts is akin to empowering kidnapping, human trafficking, and banditry in the region.
